River Hill Walk- RH 02, RH 20, and RH 10

For this walk I decided to check out a section of pathways over in River Hill I had never been to today.  I love choosing areas where we can hit up more than one tot lot and get some exercise in between.  Using gmaps pedometer I figured out that we walked a little over a mile, which is about my 4 yr old's limit.  (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/)  The great thing about Gmap pedometer is they actual have to CA pathways on the map, so you can plan a running or walking route ahead of time based on the distance you want to go, or see how far you ran when you get back.

I used my CA pathways phone app (it's like one of the only apps I have on my phone, because I hate having apps where i can just go on the Interwebs and get the same info) to figure out where I was going while walking.

I parked on Waving Willow path and headed toward RH02 tot lot.  It looked nice but was unfortunately under construction.  Tot lots in Columbia seem to be on a rotating schedule for being replaced.  And by rotating it seems all the ones in this area are made of nice Trex boards and seem very new, compared ot many others.

Next I walked back the way I came and continued on what is SUCH a nice stretch of pathway.  Except for the road noise from Rt. 32.  There were multiple adorable bridges  over several creeks- one of which was quite substantial, and we took a quick break to throw rocks.  We continued to RH 20.  RH 20 was also a bigger play structure with ramp and plastic slide, a sandbox, 2 ride on animals,  2 regular swings, and 1 baby swing.  It was also nice and shady without being overly gross from being too deep in the woods.  Munchkin gave it 2 thumbs up.

After the walk back, I drove like 1 min away and parked near RH 10,  Just to get in a 3rd playground :).  RH 10 was very similar to the other two River Hill tot lots.  This one had a sandbox, larger play structure with slide, monkey bars, and 4 swings (3 regular, 1 baby).  I am sensing a theme over in River Hill- nice tot lots which all seem cleaner and better maintained than many in the rest of Columbia.  Or as some may call it, Columbia for us non-rich folks. Seriously, I mean no offense,  I jest because I am jealous.

After all that hard work exploring, we needed to refuel, so I stopped by a favorite ice cream place, The Meadows in Hickory ridge village center. Okay, it is technically custard, not ice cream.  I typically don't like custard but this stuff is to die for,  They have a flavor of the day which is like getting a sundae for the price of a regular cup and this day was Chocolate Peanut Butter. Which means they mix their chocolate custard with peanut butter sauce, yum.

(Munchkin savoring every last bit)
